Address Changes
The Blair County 911 Center and the US Postal Service is in the process of changing addresses in the Martinsburg area to enhance the response of emergency services. This may or may not affect you. You will be notified of your address by mail and it will become effective immediately. Most of the addresses in Martinsburg Borough will remain the same with only a few changes. All addresses that are currently RD1 and RD2 Box numbers will change to an actual street address with a house number and a street name. When you receive your notification, be sure to remember to notify all correspondents of your new address, (i.e.: water/sewer billing, electric, telephone, cable, charge cards, school, employer etc.). It is also very important to change your address on your driver's license and vehicle registration, which can be done on line at http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/change_address/index.shtml, or pick up a change of address card at the Martinsburg Police Department.
To assist your local emergency providers and the mail carriers, please place your new address on or directly in front of your house or business and on your mailbox at your earliest convenience.
The Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company is providing Reflective Address Markers for a small fee ($15). These markers are red in color with white numbers on both sides, and are reflective so they are easier to see after dark or during inclimate weather. These markers are designed to be mounted on a post, such as a mailbox post. It is not yet mandatory that you purchase one of these markers, but it is very important that you mark your residence with the correct house number. In an emergency, this will assist emergency responders (Fire, Ambulance, Police) in locating the proper residence. Local agencies are encouraging everyone to obtain these address markers from the Martinsburg Fire Company if you reside in the Martinsburg Fire Company's response coverage area, in order to keep things uniform. Other local fire companies are also offering these signs, but the colors will differ with each coverage area. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Co. or the Martinsburg Police Department.
To order a Reflective Address Marker, you can contact the fire company or click on one of the following links for an order form.
After completing the form, it can be delivered or mailed along with a check or money order made payable to the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company, to:
