MARTINSBURG BOROUGH COUNCIL MINUTES

MAY 1, 2006

            The regular meeting of the Martinsburg Borough Council was held on Monday, May 1, 2006, in the municipal building.  The meeting started at 7:00 p.m. with prayer by Randy K. Stoltz and the Pledge of Allegiance. 

            ELECTED OFFICIALS PRESENTMayor Donald C. Greenleaf, President Robert A. Carper, Vice-Pres. Brian K. Gahagan (arrived 7:21 p.m.), Pro-tem Nathan P. Ormsby, Councilwoman Doreen K. Easly, Councilwoman Suzanne B. McNally, and Councilman Sheldon O. Smith

            ALSO PRESENT were Manager Randy Stoltz, Attorney Frederick Gieg, Attorney Cathy Miller, Chief Kerry Hoover, Richard Brantner, Jr., Sergeant Justin Davis and Dan Horton of the Morrisons Cove Herald.

           The MINUTES of the regular meeting of April 3, 2006, were approved on a motion by Nathan Ormsby, seconded by Doreen Easly.  The motion passed unanimously. 

            Doreen Easly presented a review of the FINANCIAL AND TREASURER’S REPORTS for April 2006. 

            The LIST OF BILLS for April 2006, check nos. 3102-3137 in the amount of $49,160.89  was approved on a motion by Doreen Easly, seconded by Sheldon Smith.  The motion passed unanimously.

            Mayor Greenleaf reported that a 10-day notice was posted on a S. Market St. property to inform the owners to get their yard compliant with the borough ordinance…attended the neighborhood crime watch meeting…attended the 175th Anniversary committee meeting…attended the viewing of the late Duncansville Mayor along with Chief Hoover…have been receiving mailing that he wanted council to be aware of.

            Chief Hoover presented the police report as written.    Attended J-net training along with sergeant Davis; held a neighborhood crime watch meeting on April 11th – good turn out

The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:29 p.m. on a motion by Nathan Ormsby, seconded by Doreen Easly.  The motion passed unanimously.
